The Community Smart Grid Network

The consideration for a community smart grid or micro-ems grid that can intergrate multiple technology platforms with one another to better manage disparate systems - - -  -

As defined by Toshiba...

A smart grid is a next-generation energy supply system that integrates the electric power infrastructure and the communication infrastructure. It connects a number of dispersed power sources, such as solar power facilities and fuel cells, and power storage devices, such as the SCiB™ rechargeable battery, to homes, offices and factories through a network of electricity and communication and analyzes and forecasts consumers’s power demands in real time in order to provide power supplies in response to these demands. Smart grids are expected to play a vital role in making effective use of renewable energy and providing a stable supply of power by controlling the balance between the supply and demand of electricity using telecommunications technology. Toshiba Group will contribute to the creation of a low-carbon society through its efforts to develop a smart grid, the next-generation power supply network.
